Our Story....

Jaushua Brewer and I (Amy Goldthorpe) met in July 2003.  I was working for the Especially For Youth program for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints up in Provo, Utah on the BYU campus.  When I applied to work as a counselor for the summer, and got the assignment to be up at BYU all summer, I wondered WHY!?!?!?  Well, now we know why.  While working at BYU, I had met a nice counselor Brandi and enjoyed her personality and working with her.  One Sunday in July, Brandi and her brother were walking on campus and I was walking with my friend and EFY partner to a fireside.  Brandi stopped us and introduced us to her brother Jaush.  I remember thinking he was a really nice guy with a GREAT personality.  It got even better when he said he was from Arizona!  We talked just for a few minutes, but I was a little discouraged because I thought he was more interested in my partner.  Later that night, little did I know Jaush would end up in a "mingle" session for the counselors that I should have been at, and chose not to go to.  He ended up going back to Arizona without us ever seeing each other again.

After the EFY sessions and going back home for the summer, I was invited to go to a party in Phoenix, Arizona for those who worked for EFY.  I was really excited that night to go, and almost convinced my friend to ditch the Relief Society broadcast to go early to the party.  Little did I know, Jaush had been invited by a girl to go with her to this same party.  Jaush, on the other hand, was tring to pursuade this young lady to ditch the EFY party and do something else.  Thankfully, Jaush's friend convinced him to go to the EFY party.  I arrived at the party before Jaush..but I definitely remember when he walked in.  I saw him in the corner of my eye as he approached me, and as he came up to me, he said, "hey, are you Amy?  I remember you were the nurse with the curly hair."  I said yes and told him I remember he was "Brandi's brother."  Then Jaush went on to introduce the girl with him telling me "this is my little sister's best friend."  ***This mean't Jaush was single and very available***  I was EXCITED!  Jaush left the party without getting my number (again) but leaving me with the statement, "if I ever get sick, I know who to go to!"  WHATEVER.  I was really interested in him, and made sure I left my phone number with his sister Brandi on her voice mail.

Three days later... HE CALLED!!!  I was so happy!  We had the BEST conversation on the phone, and he secured a date to go out 2 weeks later...(he didn't need to secure anything.  I would have DEFINITELY dropped any plans to go out with him!)

Well, we went on our first date October 11th 2003...it was AWESOME!  Then we went out two days later...it was even BETTER!  and by the third date, Jaush was already hinting to keeping me around.  After spending many wonderful days with him, and after HE KISSED ME (yesss!)  I couldn't live without him.  Jaush and I were engaged January 21st 2004 and were married in the Mesa Arizona Temple May 15th 2004.  The rest is blissfull history....

We are so grateful we got this picture taken of us, because it is one of our most favorite!  We were at Jaush's sister Brandi and her husband David's wedding in Bountiful Utah.  The weather and flowers were AWESOME for pictures.  It was a beautiful occassion and a fun time for us to spend with family.

Honeymoon to the Carribean!  05/2004

Jaush and I got married May 15th 2004, and decided to take a honeymoon to the Carribean on a cruise!  We had a blast and spent time snorkeling, sun bathing, going to shows, shopping, and just loving every minute together!  We got a nice couple to take this sunset picture for us...isn't Jaush gorgeous!  Oh, I mean the sunset?!

Seattle 01/2004

This was taken by our Mom Darci in Seattle.  Jaush took me up there to meet his family just before he popped the question 2 weeks later!  We had a great time taking a ton of pictures and getting to know each other.
